Market segmentation is when you divide your potential market into separate categories or segments according to their individual needs. When you target the correct market segmentation, you will find more customers that need your product. Though these concepts may seem simplistic, if you do not target your business, you may find that your potential customer base is too large. Market segmentation is a valued advertising and sales strategy. 3 . Determining Your Target Market

In many cases, your current customer or client base will be a subset of your target market. However, if you want your business to continue to grow, you do not want to limit your target market to your current customer base.

The businesses in the target market selection are the ones that are “most likely” to purchase your product or service. Finding your target market selection will enable you to spend your marketing budget for the best results to give you the largest number of leads for your money. When you use target market selection, the lead generation will be the customers most likely to continue to use your product or service.
